How does it work?
Your objective in online poker is to get the highest or the best hand possible. Five cards will appear on your screen and you'll get to choose which ones you want to keep by clicking on them. It's up to you how many cards you want changed or you could keep all of them.
The games takes place around a virtual poker table. Everything is played in real time so you have to wait while people are making their decisions. You are also able to chat to the other players using a built in chat box. On some sites each player will have their own avatar. Usually you can choose from a built in bank of avatars.
Some online poker sites use graphics for the interface but there are sites now, where you have a live web cam image of the dealer. Also yourself and other players have webcams on and you can talk to each one. Or you could use the java poker chat.
